Procedure
After introducing ourselves, we will briefly discuss what is meant by Intentional Camera Movment (ICM) and why it is used. Then, we will have a look at what effect moving the camera in different ways has on the image as well as have a detailed look at shutter speed and motion blur. We will practice ICM through a series of guided exercises, handholding the camera as well as using a tripod and compare the results. As you become more comfortable with ICM, you will learn further techniques such as zooming or defocusing during exposure to get even more creative results. Then, it’s time to photograph and put into practice what you have learned!
While you are photographing, the trainer will go around, take a look over your shoulder, give tips and answers any questions you might have.
Notes
This course is suitable for those who have some experience with photography and using a tripod. A tripod and tripod head is required. A camera with manual settings options is also required, but brand is not important. Various ND Filters might come in handy. Typical zoom lens, e.g. 24-70mm or 70-200mm.
The photography course takes place in all weathers. Weather-related clothing is therefore necessary.
